Hudson Rose - The Story So Far

The story of Hudson Rose starts with a girl, a guitar and a dream.

It was Christmas 2016 when Hudson was given her first guitar, a mini Maton and just three weeks later, in January 2017 she set off for Tamworth Country Music Festival.  It was at this festival, combined with a trip to see Keith Urban in concert, that she was hooked and set herself a dream of becoming a country music artist.

With well received performances under her belt at Tamworth Country Music Festival, including being announced as one of the Top 10 Buskers and attending the Junior Country Music Academy in 2019, Hudson returned in 2020, gracing the stage for 14 performances including opening for Homegrown, the HSF Artist Showcase, the Junior Academy Showcase and sharing the stage with Amber Lawrence.

For three years Hudson has been gigging up and down NSW’s Mid North Coast, leaving audiences captivated by her strong vocals and emotive performances of originals and covers.

2020 was a monumental year for Hudson Rose. After signing with Checked Label Services/Kobalt Music Publishing for global representation, Hudson released her debut single ‘Never See Me Cry’. Since debuting at No 2 on the iTunes chart 'Never See Me Cry' has gone from strength to strength. The single reached No 17 on the Music Network Country Hot 50 Chart and was the most played single on ABC Country for three weeks in a row, after being added on high rotation.  Major player KIX Country embraced the track which resulted in No 12 chart success, with the music video spun on CMT Australia.

With limited opportunities due to the global pandemic in 2021, Hudson has still been able to let her light shine. Her follow up single ‘One More Kiss’ was released in February 2021and premiered at #1 on the iTunes Country Charts with Triple M Country adding the single to full rotation, with the accompanying music video spun on CMT Australia. This was quickly followed by the Road To Roma Festival in March 2021 where she shared the stage with some amazing artists including Darlinghurst, Andrew Swift, Jane Denham, Ben Ransom and Bec Lavelle.Following on from this success Hudson Rose was Awarded the Maureen Wagner Memorial Award for Most Promising Young Artist in Australian Country Music 2021.

For fans of Kelsea Ballerini, Kasey Musgraves, Keith Urban, and Caroline Jones - Hudson Rose’s relatable songs could just be what you are looking for, for your next playlist.

There is something distinctly refreshing about Hudson Rose’s gift of storytelling. Together with a vibrant, down to earth personality, unquestionable star quality and at just 19, Hudson Rose is an impressive new voice on the country music scene in Australia and one to watch as her story unfolds.
